Cemetery in Qirmizi Qasaba

Cemetery Jewish Grave

The cemetery of Qirmizi Qasaba is located higher than the village on the slope of the hill. The earliest gravestones here date back to 1807 and 1814.

Carved from fieldstone, they were about 80 cm high, with the inscription chiseled into the façade of the stone slab. Other tombstones from the first half of the 19th century are rectangular stela with no ornamentation. Modest ornaments start to appear on the mid-19th century stones in the form of an open rosette, and those from the second half of the 19th century are decorated with leaves and stars of David. Inscriptions are framed in a pointed arch.
