Cafe Asif is a non-profit and culinary center that works in tandem with the Jewish Food Society and Tel Aviv Start-Up Nation Central. The goal of Asif is to explore local food culture and provide a home for research, dialogue, and culinary experiences. With a library of over 1500 culinary books, changing exhibitions, workshops, and a rooftop farm, Asif helps to document and articulate the evolving Israeli Founder and executive director, Naama Shefi, is a kibbutznik who believes that food is a central ingredient of culture and identity, and the best way to build community. Cafe Assif’s culinary director Ayelet Latovitch started her culinary training in London and enjoys using a variety of ingredients from every corner of Israel and beyond. Her cooking style is rich in vegetables and raw ingredients!
