Ellis Kosher Kitchen

Perhaps unsurprisingly, people do not normally associate traditional Jewish home cooking within the textured multicultural fabric of the UAE- let alone it’s much stricter Kosher protocols! When Elli moved into the community with her husband and three children back in 2013, this cultural gap combined with the lack of readily available Kosher products in the UAE served to strengthen Elli’s sense of purpose.

Elli was born and proudly raised in South Africa by Greek parents. She is a Sociologist and self-professed foodie with a deep respect for ancient history and culture which naturally led her to live in multiple cities around the world including Argentina. Her appreciation for traditional Jewish and Kosher food has made it difficult to eat in restaurants therefore she decided to invite people into her own kitchen and Elli’s Kosher Kitchen was born!

Over the years, Elli has blended her multicultural family recipes with local flavors to create unique, mouthwatering “Kosherati” dishes that are both familiar to locals and meant to be generously shared with loved ones of all ages.

What started out as a way to help travelers extend their time in Dubai for business or to explore its wonderful cityscape and world-class marvels has led to a growing demand for fresh Kosher meals as well as Jewish cuisine in general for the local population of Emiratis and expats.

To make sure her meals meet strict Kosher food prep protocols, she maintains two separate kitchens (1 for meat and 1 for dairy) and welcomes regular inspections from international rabbis.

By providing Kosher food to travelers and residents in the UAE, Elli’s hope is that you will feel the hospitality, warmth, and quality of service characteristic to this part of the world and embraced by her family.

Mendi’s

Mendi’s is a Kosher Restaurant of Chabad, which is an acronym formed from three Hebrew words—Chochmah, Binah, Da’at (Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge). This restaurant offers Georgian traditional Kosher food, as well as food from other countries. The atmosphere in Mendi’s is comfortable, so the visitors can enjoy high quality food in a nice environment.

Ba Ghetto Firenze

The latest addition to the Ba Ghetto family, this restaurant also brings the experience of Judeo-Roman and Middle Eastern kosher cuisine to Florence.
Located in via Luigi Carlo Farini 5 / r, the restaurant is located in front of the beautiful Synagogue and a few minutes from the main monuments and squares of the city, in the center of the lively Sant’Ambrogio district. The area has made crafts and traditions its strong point. It is characterized by narrow lanes closed to traffic where you can stroll, shop and browse the various antique shops or in the famous Sant’Ambrogio Market, which offers a glimpse of daily life in the Renaissance city.
Here the Dabush brothers have found the right place for Ba Ghetto’s cuisine, capable of respecting tradition and looking to the future at the same time.

Baghetto

The oldest Jewish restaurant in the Capital has its roots in the 1980s, when the Dabush couple open their first restaurant in Via Livorno 10, near Piazza Bologna. Historical and profound roots, passion and creativity were then handed down to their 4 children Avi, Ilan, Eran and Amit, who followed in the footsteps of their parents by opening 5 other Ba Ghetto restaurants, this time right in the heart of the Jewish ghetto in Rome, Milan and Florence.

What has always distinguished Ba Ghetto, is the fusion of unique elements: the Judeo-Roman culinary tradition, the strictly kosher vision of food, the search for healthy and high quality ingredients, the original flavors and recipes typical of the Tripolina history and Middle Eastern. His cuisine has a precise meaning: it represents a mix not only of ingredients but also of customs, history and tradition. It offers a very rich gastronomic proposal that satisfies both kosher enthusiasts and who is looking for something different from the usual.
