BIOGRAPHY

I am an active member of the Jewish community since I was a child. I am part of several of the community projects such as the Albert Einstein Sunday School, the youth organization, and religious services. I have a degree in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering and I am an enthusiastic student of Jewish history in Cuba also.  I am part of the development of the app “Jews in Cuban History” about the impact of the Jewish minority in the different Cuban historical periods.

I am proud to offer tour guide services focused on showcasing Havana’s rich Jewish heritage and current affairs from the perspective of the members of this community themselves.

Classic Car Jewish Tour in Havana

Just as Venice's iconic boats are the soul of the Italian city, Havana's classic cars are the very essence of this Caribbean gem. Immerse yourself in a journey that will transport you through time as you cruise the charming streets of Havana in these perfectly preserved vintage cars. These vehicles will take you on a fascinating journey through the Jewish Cuba.  Visit sites such as the Beth Shalom Synagogues, the Sephardic Hebrew Center and Adath Israel, where you will learn about the history and current affairs of the Cuban Jewish community, speak with local leaders and contribute to the development of community projects. You will also explore Havana's old Jewish quarter, where many of the main institutions, businesses and centers of Havana Jewry were located. You will visit the Menorah Square, the only Holocaust museum in Cuba, and a unique hotel that was decorated in Jewish styles in honor of the presence of this minority in Havana: Hotel Raquel. You can visit the Jewish Cemetery of Guanabacoa, where you can learn about the history of the most influential Jews in the history of Cuban society and the Jewish community itself. Parallel to these sites, your vintage car can also take you to see and visit emblematic places in Havana such as the Capitol, the National Hotel and the Morro Castle. Don't miss this unique experience, where classic cars will witness your journey through Jewish heritage in Cuba.

Walking Jewish Tour in Havana

On this walking Jewish tour you will have the opportunity to stroll through the streets of two of Havana's main towns: Vedado and Old Havana. In Vedado, town where many emblematic places of Havana are located, such as the Hotel Nacional and the Fabrica de Arte Cubano; you will also find the Beth Shalom Synagogue, the Sephardic Center and the former headquarters of the United Hebrew Congregation, places of Jewish Havana that you will be able to visit. In Old Havana, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982 and home to historical sites such as the Havana Capitol and the former Presidential Palace, you will have the opportunity to visit the Adath Israel Synagogue, the Menorah Park, the Hotel Raquel (decorated in Jewish style in its interior) and the former building that belonged to the Zionist Union of Cuba. During the visits to the synagogues you will also have the opportunity to learn about the current life of the Cuban Jewish community, talk to local leaders and make donations to support different community projects.

🌍 Celebrating One Year of the Jewish Silk Road Portal

World Jewish Travel was thrilled at #IMTM 2024 to present a copy of the WJT Jewish Silk Road Pressbook to the CEO of the Azerbaijan National Tourism Board Florian Sengstschmid and Jamilya Talibzade its Israeli representative Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB).

The Pressbook celebrates the one year anniversary of the Jewish Silk Road Portal launch, an amazing example of using Jewish travel as a means of cultural diplomacy, whilst highlighting the significant Jewish contribution to the ancient trade route. Kudos to our participating partners from the Kiriaty Foundation (Turkey), National Board of Tourism of #Georgia, National Board of Tourism of #Uzbekistan, and Israeli Embassy of #India.
